H.E. Dr. Maryam Buti Al Suwaidi is transforming the UAE’s financial landscape as the CEO of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), the country’s capital market regulator. She is also an active member of the National Committee on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AMLCFT) and the Financial Restructuring Committee, overseeing key aspects of bankruptcy resolution.
Dr. Al Suwaidi’s career with SCA spans numerous regulatory roles, where she has been instrumental in supervision, enforcement, licensing, and corporate governance. Recognized by Forbes as one of the region’s most influential leaders, Dr. Al Suwaidi holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of Leeds, a Master’s in Commercial Law from the University of Wales, and an international diploma in AML from the ICA, UK, as well as an honors degree in Shariah and Law.
