We’re swooning over the royal wedding makeup look that graced the complexion of Rajwa Al Saif at her recent nuptials to Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan. So much so, that we found it ~very~ necessary to ask Dubai-based international celebrity makeup artist, Laure Sejean, to give us her take on the bride’s royal beat. Not only do we have the newlywed’s makeup breakdown, but Laure also gave us tips on how to recreate the look at home. To top if off, celebrity hair stylist, Deena Alawaid, gave us her input on Rajwa’s hair, too.

Glowing Complexion
“When it comes to creating a royal bridal look, less is always best. The bridal makeup look of Rajwa Al Saif is elegant, simple, and soft. It brings out the best of her natural beauty.
Foundation and Concealer
“For Rajwa’s timeless royal bridal look, use a lightweight foundation. This is key, as you don’t want your makeup to look heavy. Opt for Sisley’s Phyto-Teint Nude Foundation (Dhs355, bloomingdales.ae) or Chanel’s Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint (Dhs285, sephora.ae). Both textures are extremely lightweight. They create an aristocratic type of flawless skin finish that’s fit for a princess.
“Concealer is key to cover any imperfections on targeted areas. It’s essential to keep in mind less is always more. I recommend using the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (Dhs94, lookfantastic.ae). It’s always been my go to for superior coverage. I love this concealer because it’s also a great option for shade matching as it’s available in a wide variety of shades.”
Bronzer and Blush
“Rajwa’s cheeks are quite discrete and blend in with the rest of her face. To replicate this makeup look, use the latest Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wand (Dhs185, Charlotte Tilbury stores). Not only is it easy to blend, but the colour payoff is quite soft and I love that it’s long lasting.”
“I can see that there isn’t heavy contour on Rajwa’s face. Instead, it’s just a very soft sun-kissed bronzy touch on her forehead and cheeks. The Nudestix All Over Face Colour Matte Bondi Bae (Dhs132, sephora.ae) is my absolute favourite.
Double Powder
“For skin that looks fresh and flawless from the ceremony to post-reception, the double powder technique is the way to go. To use this technique yourself, apply a thin layer of pressed powder like the Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder (Dhs200, namshi.com) on key areas of the face like under the eyes, on the forehead as well as the chin. On top of the same areas, apply a super thin layer of the iconic Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder (Dhs190, lookfantastic.ae). This is not done to bake. It’s only to ensure no unnecessary shine will disrupt the celebration.”

Eyelids and Inner Corners
“Overall, Rajwa’s eyes, are a matte look. However, if you look closely at the details in her photos, it’s evident there was a light shimmer on the inner corner of her eyes. The Hindash Beautopsy Palette (Dhs257.08, hindash.com) is the perfect matte palette to create this timeless look. If you don’t have this palette, look through your makeup stash and find a light beige to apply as a base, and a light neutral brown or darker beige to use as your transition shade.
“To create Rajwa’s luminosity on your eyes, apply highlighter in your inner corners. I recommend using the Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette in Glitz (Dhs225, shop-beauty.dior.ae). To define the eyes, use Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eye Pencil in Perversion Black (Dhs106, sephora.ae) on the lower water line and Makeup By Mario’s Master Mattes Liquid Liner (Dhs110, sephora.ae) a very thin line on the upper lash line.”
Mascara and Falsies
“I can see that some very natural and short eye lashes were used. I love the Beauty7 8-15mm DIY Cluster Lashes from Amazon (Dhs50, amazon.ae). They give a super natural and elegant finish. Hers are very similar to these. Finish off the eyes with the Lancome Hypnose Drama Waterproof Mascara (Dhs155, bloomingdales.ae). It’s truly the best formula.”

“As for her lips, it seems as though there is only a nice gloss. I recommend locking some color onto the lips. To get a look similar to Rajwa’s but with a bit of a twist, use Rare Beauty’s Kind Words Matte Lip Liner in Talented (Dhs85, sephora.ae). Apply a coat of the gorgeous Rodial Collagen Plumping Lip Oil (Dhs111, lookfantastic.ae) on top.”
Laure’s three tips to keeping makeup fresh all night long:
- Prep your skin with hydrating skincare. I recommend a quick exfoliation with some Rodial VitC Brightening Pads (Dhs284, namshi.com), a couple of drops of The Inky List Hyaluronic Acid Serum (starting at Dhs35, sephora.ae), and a good moisturizer like the Augustinus Bader The Cream (Dhs710, thatconceptstore.com). For the under eye area, opt for The Illuminating Eye Cream by Laura Mercier (Dhs280, bloomingdales.ae).
- Choose a foundation that works well with your skin type. You don’t want your skin to look overly mattified or for it to have too much hydration.
- Apply fixing spray like Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray (Dhs159, sephora.ae) never fails.
Magnificent Mane
Hair stylist to the stars Deena Alawaid gave us her take on Rajwa’s hair. “The bride has an effortless elegant style from her choice of dress to tiara she wore and her veil. It was quite simple look but made perfection.”

“Rajwa had a clean centre part with hair tucked behind her ears. The beauty of this style is it didn’t distract from her jewelry or her dress. The style was infused with a lot shine and a regal softness with a hint of curl. I love the way her hair framed her face and her tiara.”
