Co-founders of internationally renowned bridal boutique Mary Trufel, dynamic duo Alexandra Meteleva and childhood friend Natalia Platonova found the bridal boutique and it’s unique “fairytale shopping experience” out of a desire to help women feel comfortable and supported when choosing their wedding gowns.
Established in Moscow in 2013, the Mary Trufel brand has bridal boutiques in 12 key cities around Europe and in the past year opened at City Walk in Dubai. Born out of the desire to overcome uninviting shopping experiences reported by brides to be. Alexandra comments “When I was looking for my wedding dress back in 2009, I was faced with uninviting and intrusive services, where it was scary for a girl to enter. I went around a lot of boutiques and got upset several times – sharing this with friends they had also faced similar experiences, it was this that sparked my desire to do everything differently. Natalia and I created Mary Trufel for girls like us – everyone has their own story and dream, this should be understood by bridal boutiques and led to our creation of Fairy Book training so our team take extra care with each client to ensure positive and memorable emotions during their fitting no matter taste, budget or body type”.
Taking an inclusive approach to bridal needs Natalia adds “Choosing a wedding dress is one of the most important, emotional and beautiful moments a woman can experience in her life. But it can also be one of the most anxious, we want more people to get married beautifully and take an inclusive not exclusive approach to brides to be shopping experiences that should be encouraged on a wider scale.”
Tapping in Dubai’s booming wedding industry and coming for an extensive background in retail Alexandra and Natalia take extra care to understand cultural preferences when opening Mary Trufel stores in new locations, which is then reflected throughout the boutique design, experience and collections found for that region. Alexandra comments “We have a keen eye for classy, modern, stylish and light dresses that are beautifully – and expertly – made. Whether simple or elaborate, small or plus-size, modestly priced or extravagant, only the best bridal gowns in the world make it to the Mary Trufel showroom, ensuring that every bride who steps inside the boutique has a beautiful and emotional moment they will never forget.”
