Jennie Stallings, Partner and Commercial Manager at ChelseaGREEN has spent the last 30 years transforming spaces into wellness-focused environments where people can truly thrive. Originally from the United States, Jennie’s expertise spans the US, the Middle East, and Africa, making her a global leader in ergonomic design, wellness consulting, and interior design. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of North Texas, she has honed her skills across various sectors, evolving from residential projects to commercial spaces that emphasize holistic well-being.
Jennie’s journey began with a passion for creating beautiful residential spaces that were more than just visually appealing, they were sanctuaries where people could retreat, recharge, and create lasting memories. She spent the first decade of her career designing homes that prioritized comfort and functionality. In 2006, Jennie made a pivotal move to Dubai, where she shifted her focus to the commercial furniture sector, working with leading companies like MillerKnoll (formerly Herman Miller). It was here that Jennie’s understanding of the true impact of functional design on productivity and mental health deepened. She realized that thoughtfully designed workspaces could enhance employee well-being and drive business success by increasing comfort and productivity.
“Discovering the benefits of ergonomic products was a game-changer. I saw firsthand how a well-designed chair or desk could make a difference in someone’s day, supporting their health and happiness at work and beyond.” Jennie explains. This realization spurred Jennie to delve deeper into the science of health-positive workspaces, leading her to spend 12 months studying to become a WELL Accredited Professional. In 2019, she received her certification, solidifying her commitment to designing spaces that prioritize wellness in every aspect.
Driven by her passion for beauty, functionality, and health, Jennie founded BeWELL, her own consultancy that focused on creating environments that promote overall well-being. Her dedication to integrating wellness into workspace design caught the attention of ChelseaGREEN, with whom she had collaborated on several projects. Recognizing their shared values and vision, Jennie joined ChelseaGREEN as a Partner and Commercial Manager at the beginning of 2022. In her role, Jennie leads a team that develops innovative solutions for clients, ensuring that employee well-being is always at the forefront. “At ChelseaGREEN, we believe that today’s workforce wants flexibility and environments that reflect their unique needs. People’s priorities have changed, driven by the aftermath of a pandemic, political unrest, environmental awareness, and technological advances. Different age groups working together expect spaces that value their diverse expectations and support the way they wish to work.” She speaks.
Beyond her work at ChelseaGREEN, Jennie’s commitment to wellness extends to her involvement with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), where she sits on the Movement WELL Advisory Board. This role allows her to advocate for healthier buildings and communities on a global scale. Jennie’s dedication to sustainability has also grown over the years, influenced by her experience as an expat in the UAE, a country making enormous strides towards a sustainable future. “Living in a place that has progressed so quickly, I feel it’s my responsibility to drive change and raise awareness, both in my personal life and as a member of the construction community,” she says.
Jennie’s approach to design is holistic, encompassing not only the physical elements of a space but also the emotional and psychological well-being of its occupants. She firmly believes that a workspace should be more than just a place to perform tasks, it should be an environment that inspires, supports, and nurtures its users. As Jennie puts it, “A well-designed space can have a profound impact on how people feel and perform. When you create a place where individuals can live, learn, work, and thrive, you’re not just designing a room, you’re designing a better quality of life.”
As Jennie continues to lead ChelseaGREEN in creating wellness-focused solutions, her vision for the future remains clear, to inspire a shift in how we think about the spaces we inhabit and to champion the idea that wellness is not just a luxury, but a necessity. Her journey, marked by a commitment to learning, innovation, and the well-being of others, serves as a powerful example of how design can be a force for positive change. Jennie Stallings is a pioneer in the movement to make our environments healthier, more functional, and more beautiful places to live and work.
