“Embarking on my fashion journey was an unexpected twist. While working at the US Consulate General in Dubai, my passion for design led me to sketch ideas during spare moments. Little did I know, my husband transformed those sketches into tangible creations, surprising me with a collection of my own designs. The turning point came when I received a call from Pakistan Fashion Week, inviting me to showcase my creations on the runway. This marked the exhilarating beginning of “B. Poshi,” a fusion of artistry and unexpected opportunities.” Beena shared with us when talking about how her career into the fashion industry started.
Editorial Triumph
In 2018, SHE Magazine, a publication that had been a source of solace for Beena during her formative years, presented her with an opportunity to become the CEO and Editor-in-chief of SHE Magazine USA.
“In a remarkable career pivot, my journey unfolded from the dynamic world of fashion to the helm of SHE Magazine USA as its CEO and Editor-in-chief. The catalyst for this transformation was a profound desire to amplify voices, stories, and perspectives that often lingered in the shadows. Recognizing the power of the media to shape narratives, I embraced the challenge of steering SHE Magazine USA towards a new era.” Beena explained when talking about her transition into the media world.

SHE 2.0 – A Comeback Story
Unfortunately Beena faced a life-altering event, she was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor during her pregnancy, in 2022.
“In a chapter of my life that unfolded with unexpected challenges, I faced a daunting reality – a battle against a brain tumor while carrying the precious gift of life within me just a year and a half ago. In the midst of uncertainty, there came a moment when the weight of despair threatened to eclipse my dreams. Yet, it was the echo of my true self that resonated within, reminding me of the resilience that defined my identity.”
“Rising from adversity, I found strength at the intersection of vulnerability and determination. With life growing within, the responsibility to those who looked up to me became my guiding light. Giving up was never an option; fueled by an indomitable spirit, I forged ahead, defining who I was.” Beena expressed her resilience in the face of adversity, recognizing that her journey is shared with others.
And now, after overcoming all of these obstacles Beena is back and right now, she prepares to relaunch SHE Magazine USA, she refers to herself as SHE 2.0—a woman reborn through resilience.
