Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr is the Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, where she leads the city’s ambitious transformation into a global benchmark smart city. Under her leadership, the Smart Dubai initiative has engaged both public and private sector leaders to shape Dubai’s future as a global leader in innovation and technology. Prior to this, Dr. Aisha served as Assistant Director General at the Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, where she played a key role in driving Dubai’s strategic initiatives to position the emirate at the forefront of global progress.
With more than 20 years of experience in ICT development, public reform, and government strategies, Dr. Aisha has spearheaded initiatives in various sectors, including her leadership in the formation of the Smart Dubai Office and its task force. Her career spans roles in the Ministry of Labor, where she developed key policies in management, partnerships, and change.
Dr. Aisha holds a Ph.D. in Management, Science, Technology, and Innovation, as well as numerous accolades, including the Leading Woman in Public Sector Award (2015) and recognition from the Swedish Embassy and Ericsson for her contributions to Dubai’s smart city vision. She has represented Smart Dubai at global forums such as the Smart Cities Expo and GSMA, cementing her role as a key advocate for smart cities worldwide.
