Marriam Najeeb Mossalli, founder of Niche Arabia, has become a leading force in Saudi Arabia’s luxury consultancy field. Since launching Niche Arabia in 2011, she has played a key role in elevating Saudi Arabia’s fashion industry on the global stage, specializing in luxury marketing within the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Korea, Malaysia, and Switzerland, Mossalli pursued higher education at The George Washington University, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Film. She began her career as a journalist, founding the “Life & Style” section for Arab News and contributing to international publications like Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Esquire Middle East, and Marie Claire Arabia. Her expertise also extends to lifestyle advising for the Saudi Research and Marketing Group, where she works with titles like Robb Report Arabia and Sayidaty.
Mossalli is also an accomplished author, with a published book on the disappearing crafts of Saudi Arabia’s Asir region and co-authored works on material wealth and fashion. She curated the book Under The Abaya, showcasing street style photos from Saudi women, which received over a thousand submissions in just a week.
In 2015, Mossalli was the only Arab professional invited to the Celebration of Design Gala hosted by Michelle Obama. Her influence continues to grow, earning her a spot among Arabian Business’s list of the 50 Most Influential Saudi Women in Business in 2021. She is also co-founder of the clean-beauty platform Powder Beauty and heads the C-Suite Club, an initiative supporting female entrepreneurs in Saudi Arabia.
