Rasha Al-Khamis, a 28-year-old Saudi pioneer, has made her mark as the kingdom’s first certified female boxer and an adventurer who has climbed two of the world’s seven summits. While her family is renowned for its cultural and artistic legacy—being the granddaughter of the late writer Abdullah bin Khamis—Rasha’s passion for sports, geography, and nature led her to forge a path in the world of boxing and extreme challenges.
Al-Khamis fell in love with boxing after joining a local club and training consistently for two years. “Boxing has developed my character, speed, and efficiency,” she says. She finds the sport empowering, boosting self-confidence while promoting quick reflexes and mental clarity. Her commitment to boxing led her to become a certified coach, after training with the Saudi Boxing Federation and learning the Cuban boxing techniques. She now shares her knowledge with over 160 women at King Saud University.
