Shaista Asif has been appointed Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PureHealth as part of a leadership restructuring ahead of the company’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX). This move, alongside Farhan Malik’s expanded role as Managing Director, aligns with PureHealth’s business strategy and simplifies the management structure of the healthcare conglomerate.
Shaista Asif brings more than 22 years of experience, 16 of which she has spent in the healthcare industry. As co-founder of PureHealth in 2006, she has been instrumental in the company’s growth and success. In her previous role as Group Chief Operating Officer, she oversaw multiple strategic acquisitions, including Abu Dhabi Health Services Co (SEHA), The National Rehabilitation Center (NRC), and The National Health Insurance Co. (Daman), as well as the landmark acquisition of Circle Health Group in the UK, valued at over AED 4.4 billion (US$ 1.2 billion).
Under her leadership, PureHealth has embraced innovation, spearheading AI-driven initiatives such as the Pura healthcare companion app and the PureNet digital healthcare cloud platform. These advancements have aligned with the company’s broader vision of improving health outcomes through cutting-edge technology.
Shaista’s strategic direction also reflects her commitment to sustainability.
She led PureHealth’s participation in the United Nations’ Race to Zero initiative and set a pledge for Net Zero emissions by 2040. Her leadership extends beyond business, as she has been a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, organizing significant initiatives like the Remarkable Emirati Women summit and launching the Emirati Women Chapter mentorship program.
Shaista’s recent recognition by Forbes Middle East as one of the region’s 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen and as the top healthcare leader is a testament to her exceptional impact on the healthcare industry.
