Guzal Ergasheva exemplifies the term multi-talented – as a PhD holder, mother, businesswoman, beauty, and luxury fashion entrepreneur, she embodies the spirit of a true go-getter, drawing inspiration from her experiences as a woman to achieve numerous accolades. Born in Uzbekistan, Guzal earned a degree in Oriental Studies, followed by a Master’s degree in Economic and International Relations. She then attained a PhD focusing on the Economic Development of Arabic Countries and Arabic Language. Driven by ambition, curiosity, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Guzal embarked on various internships around the world before teaching economic development at the higher education level.
Relocating to various locations with her husband and three children across the following years It was not till later in life that Guzal decided to pursue her long-held passion for fashion “I like to think my pursuit of my dreams later in life will inspire others to do the same and take bold steps, my mother was the head designer and tailor at Uzbekistan’s main fashion house. Watching her as a child, I cultivated a deep passion for fashion, it is in my blood. It was only after having my three children that I decided to take the leap and explore my interest in fashion. I wanted to set an example for them, showing that their mother is capable of anything and that it’s never too late to embark on a journey of self-discovery,” says Guzal.
Embracing her passion, Guzal had prepared for her move into fashion by first returning to study a diploma in fashion styling and interior design. This new direction led her to take on one of the most transformative roles of her career. Over a decade ago, after completing her diplomas and working for a number of private clientele, Guzal relocated to Dubai, where her talent was quickly recognised by the renowned Harvey Nichols department store, which invited her to co-host events. Since she has gone on to style for some of the biggest names in fashion world working as a stylist and cohosting ladies events for luxury brands such as Versace, Loewe, Miu Miu, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Missoni and Giorgio Armani amongst many others.
Throughout her styling career, Guzal had the pleasure of meeting ambitious and inspiring women, feeling compelled to connect and bring these women together Guzal Co-Founded the Russian Social Speaking Club. This elite membership organisation helps women and fellow entrepreneurs acclimatise to life in Dubai and network with like-minded individuals, helping them to exchange ideas and propel forward together.
Guzal comments “Having relocated to many regions with my family I knew firsthand how challenging and isolating it can be when moving to a new country, I wanted to create a safe space for like-minded women to come together, providing practical support and advice where we can to inspire each other to pursue our dreams. By building a community, we can all join together and help each other.”
Shortly after launching the Russian Social Club, Guzal saw a gap in the local market for beauty spaces that had the capability to deliver international standards in beauty services and set about revolutionising the beauty space in the region by launching premium beauty Maison concept Privé 7 Dubai. More than a go-to spot for self-care and beauty needs Privé 7 includes a curated community social space where experiences and workshops are held with renowned brands and specialists across beauty, holistic health, wellness and fashion. A haven, catering quality through its extensive list of products, services, and experiences Privé7’s success in Dubai led to a second branch opening in Abu Dhabi for 2024.
Guzal comments, “At Privé 7, our commitment is to seamlessly weave an unparalleled experience for our clients. From the moment they step through our doors every detail is specially curated to elevate their journey – we currently have over an 88% return rate from customers and believe this a testament to our unique approach and ethos at Privé7 that goes beyond being a premium beauty to salon and instead also delivers a community space for women inviting them to be part of our story.”
In addition to Privé 7, Guzal recently co-founded Avanta, a dynamic company redefining high end cosmetics and perfume brand entry into the Middle East, Central Asia and Maldivian markets through expert retail operation and market-leading distribution arm, including luxury hotels and spas. Already carrying over eight premium globally renowned and approved cosmetic, skincare and perfume lines.
Always grateful for her remarkable career, Guzal is passionate about giving back to the community. In the future Guzal plans to launch a program for young emerging designers in the Middle East. This initiative will support and inspire new designers in the region, providing them with real-life fashion and business advice, masterclasses, and tailored events that introduce them to her network.
