On October 04th, the delegation embarked on a comprehensive exploration of Mykonos Town, also known as Chora. This historic town is a labyrinth of narrow, winding alleys, flanked by the island’s iconic whitewashed buildings with vibrant blue doors and shutters. The delegation’s guided tour took them through the heart of Chora, where they discovered the island’s rich history and cultural heritage.

The first stop was the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos, a treasure trove of artifacts that tell the story of the island’s ancient past. From intricate pottery to statues and relics from the neighboring island of Delos, the museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives of those who once inhabited these lands.

The visit continued at the Maritime Museum, where the group delved into Mykonos’ storied maritime history. From the age of sail to modern times, we explored fascinating exhibits that showcased the island’s rich seafaring heritage, including ancient navigational tools, ship models, and accounts of legendary voyages that have shaped Mykonos into a maritime hub through the centuries.

The Museum’s exhibits include ship models from the pre-Minoan period to the early 20th century, historical maritime documents, rare engravings and charts, ancient artefacts, nautical instruments, fittings and tools, as well as coins with nautical themes from the 5th century BC to the 5th century AD.

The Museum’s library consists of about 5,000 rare books, old and modern publications, includes an archive of manuscripts and photographs and is constantly being enriched.

The afternoon was spent at Agrari Beach, a hidden gem that offers a more secluded and tranquil experience compared to the island’s more popular beaches. Here, the group indulged in a leisurely lunch at Taverna, a family-run taverna known for its authentic Greek dishes made from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. it’s worth noting that Agrari Beach is home to the latest addition to the Myconian Collection Hotels, enhancing the area’s appeal with a touch of luxury.

The evening concluded with free time for shopping in the town, where the delegation explored the boutiques and galleries that line the streets of Chora.

We concluded our day with an unforgettable dining experience at Camares Pool Restaurant, set against the backdrop of the stunning Elia Beach in Mykonos. As the signature restaurant of the Royal Myconian, Camares is an ode to authentic Greek cuisine, elevating traditional flavors with a refined touch. This exceptional venue adds a luxurious note to the island’s vibrant culinary scene, making every guest feel like royalty.
