These early obstacles fostered a strength and resilience that would shape her future endeavors. “I had a tough childhood and many family obstacles that I had to pass by at a very early age that made me much stronger,” Mervat shares. Despite these difficulties, her family environment was supportive and encouraging, providing her with the freedom to explore life through a ‘trial and error’ approach.
Her father played a pivotal role in her development, consistently believing in her strength and potential. “My father has always been my biggest supporter. He always believed in me, that I’m strong and I can pass anything,” Mervat reflects. This unwavering support, coupled with the comforting and unconditional love of her grandparents, created a balanced foundation for her to grow.
While many draw inspiration from celebrities or public figures, Mervat finds her greatest inspiration closer to home. Her brother, just a year younger, is her role model. “He’s the closest person to me my whole life. I look up to him… for me, he’s one of a kind,” she says. His values, ethics, and approach to life provide her with realistic and relatable guidance.
Mervat’s parents also significantly influenced her values and outlook on life. Her mother instilled in her a deep spiritual connection, while her father emphasized practical, results-oriented values. This blend of spirituality and pragmatism is something Mervat cherishes deeply, providing her with the balance necessary for a fulfilling life.
Mervat’s fascination with planes and clouds began in her childhood, eventually leading her to the exhilarating world of skydiving. Her first skydiving experience was a moment of pure euphoria, an adrenaline rush that nothing else could match. However, the path to becoming a certified solo skydiver was fraught with challenges. She faced multiple failures during the AFF course and even suffered an ankle injury. Yet, her determination never wavered. “I failed three times… but this made me want to continue more,” Mervat recalls.
Skydiving profoundly transformed her perspective on fear and overcoming obstacles. It boosted her confidence and became her escape from the pressures of everyday life. “Believing in myself that if I can get back to the land alive and enjoying it, I can do anything else,” she says.
At the age of 25, a major life trauma led Mervat to discover Reiki energy healing. This practice became a cornerstone of her personal healing journey and a tool she now uses to help others. The benefits of Reiki, she explains, are vast, encompassing mental and physical stress relief, enhanced perception, and a profound sense of inner peace.
Inspired by the positive changes Reiki brought into her life, Mervat pursued certification to extend this gift to others. “When it really helped me and changed me to a better person, I decided to help others with this gift,” she explains. Integrating Reiki into her daily routine has become second nature, guided by the mantra, “Just for today, I’m gentle with all beings, including myself.”
Mervat is driven by a desire to empower women and girls, motivated by her own transformative experiences. She believes in the importance of exploring and embracing one’s true self. Her advice to those struggling to find their identity is simple yet profound: “Don’t give up on exploring and trying… it’s an ongoing cycle that I wish you enjoy every second in.”
One of the most rewarding aspects of Mervat’s journey is witnessing the impact she has on others. From supporting her friends to helping young girls through Reiki sessions, her efforts to empower are heartfelt and genuine. “Maybe just maybe if I’ll make a small difference in someone’s life, I’ll continue doing it,” she says.
Mervat’s life is a delicate balance between the adrenaline rush of skydiving and the calming practices of Reiki. She believes both aspects are essential, providing her with a holistic approach to life. “I can’t live all my life in the calmness the healing provides me nor the extreme adrenaline rush the adventurous gives me. I need to have both sides in me,” she explains.
Her personal philosophy, “fear nothing,” is a guiding principle in her life. This fearless approach is deeply ingrained, reinforced by her family’s support and her experiences skydiving. “To fear nothing is a way of life I had since I was young,” she asserts.
As Mervat looks to the future, her goals are both personal and professional. At 30, she aspires to start a family and continue her journey in skydiving, aiming to master the wing suit. Professionally, she seeks to deepen her knowledge of healing practices and continue empowering others through her work.
Her upcoming projects are a blend of science and spirituality, including a certification in “cosmic fingerprint,” which aims to activate cosmic powers. This aligns with her continuous pursuit of knowledge and growth, always pushing her boundaries to explore the unknown.
