Marina El Khawand, a beacon of compassion and a Global Health Equity Ambassador, stands at the helm of transformative change with her visionary leadership. As the Founder of Medonations NGO, Marina is on a mission to break barriers and ensure free, equal, and equitable medical assistance reaches every corner of the globe.
Her remarkable journey began at the tender age of 18, catalyzed by the tragic Beirut explosion. In the aftermath of this devastating event, Marina founded Medonations, initially a personal endeavor that swiftly evolved into a global force for good. This evolution speaks volumes about Marina’s resilience, commitment, and determination to make a meaningful impact on the world.
Rooted in her Lebanese upbringing, Marina’s early engagement in humanitarian work laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Throughout her school years, she actively participated in various social service actions, shaping her into the compassionate humanitarian and Law graduate she is today, at the age of 22.
Medonations, under Marina’s guidance, has been a catalyst for transformative change. In 2022, the organization initiated the construction of a Free Clinic in Beirut, equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities. This endeavor reflects Marina’s commitment to providing accessible healthcare within Lebanon.
Expanding her reach internationally, Marina registered Medonations France and established its first European headquarters in 2022. This strategic move aims to enhance support for Lebanon and further extend the organization’s impact on a global scale.
The numbers speak volumes about the tangible difference Medonations has made under Marina’s leadership. Within Lebanon’s borders, the organization has saved over 20,000 lives and covered the costs of more than 110 surgeries. But Marina’s vision doesn’t stop at national boundaries.
Medonations has launched 50 international medical collection points in over 50 countries, creating a network that transcends geographical constraints. Marina’s mantra, “Anyone, anywhere, and at any stage of life has the potential to become a lifesaver, a catalyst for change, and a creator of hope,” encapsulates the ethos that propels her unwavering commitment to global health equity.
Marina El Khawand’s journey is not just a testament to her individual resilience and leadership but also an inspiration for a generation seeking to make a positive impact on the world.
