Emirati women’s investments on ADX vaults 75 percent to $9.4 billion from January to mid-August this year

The financial empowerment of women in the UAE has seen another high, with the aggregate investments by Emirati women at the Abu Dhabi stock exchange vaulting by about 75 percent to hit AED 34.6 billion during January till mid August this year.

The combined stock investments by Emirati women on the Abu Dhabi bourse was to the tune of AED 19.8 billion in the corresponding period of 2021, data released by the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).

“Emirati women completed transactions over nine billion shares during the reference period, up 42 percent from 6.3 billion shares during the same period last year, ” ADX said in a statement.

Of this, 219,000 Emirati women investors owned AED 3.9 billion of shares at ADX during January-mid-August 2022, accounting for 89.8 percent of the total number of women trading at the bourse, ADX said.
