Dr. Mariam’s journey in Dubai began in the early 80s when she established a Nursery School, inspired by her own children. She then went on to head a prominent K-12 school as the Principal. Her dedication and vision led to the remarkable growth of the school, making it one of the largest Asian schools in the UAE, with over 7000 students.
Her passion for education led her to the higher education sector, where she played a pivotal role in establishing foreign University branch campuses in the UAE, such as the University of New Brunswick in Dubai Knowledge Village. This pioneering effort encouraged foreign universities to set up campuses in Dubai, further enhancing the region’s educational landscape.
Throughout her career, Dr. Mariam has held senior leadership positions with the Canadian University of Dubai, Heriot-Watt University, and Amity University in Dubai. Her contributions have been instrumental in the start-up and the exponential increase of student populations in these institutions’ foreign branch campuses.
