Dr. Sana Nabeel, founder of Elements Medical Center in Sharjah, UAE, is dedicated to restoring self-assurance in smiles. Raised in Mumbai, she aims to revive the power of confident smiles, as smiling makes us appear more attractive and personable. Her motto is “Put a smile on every face.”
As we started our conversation Dr. Sana talked about her motivation to pursue dentistry, “I am a Mumbai native, pursued dentistry due to deeply rooted factors in my upbringing and personal aspirations. I was inspired by the vibrant culture and positive impact of healthcare professionals on people’s lives. My fascination with science and biology further fuelled my interest in dentistry. This interest led me to create a practice prioritizing patient-centric care and providing comprehensive oral healthcare services. I believe in the transformative power that positively impacts people’s lives which led me to pursue this entrepreneurial path.” She said with pride.
Dr. Sana is on a mission to bring back the power of confident smiles through her clinic in UAE. We asked her about the journey from Mumbai to UAE and establishing her dental clinic. She said, “My journey from Mumbai to establishing my dental practice in the UAE has been a remarkable one, driven by passion. After completing secondary education in Mumbai, I pursued an academic journey to earn a Bachelor’s in Dentistry from the prestigious Terna Dental College in Maharashtra, in 2009. I continuously upgraded my skills through courses and specialisations, gained valuable experience working with professionals, and this ignited my entrepreneurial spirit to establish my dental practice.
In September 2016, I founded Elements Medical Centre in Sharjah, UAE, focusing on patient comfort and comprehensive oral healthcare services. The center is known for its state-of-the-art facilities and commitment to excellence.” Dr. Sana’s journey from Mumbai to the UAE has been one of growth, learning, and unwavering dedication to her profession. Her perseverance and the pursuit of excellence shaped her destiny.
Having worked as a dentist for 15 years, in Mumbai and the Middle East, Dr. Sana spoke about how this exposure influenced her, “I’ve learned the importance of cultural sensitivity and adaptability in patient care. This taught me to approach each patient with empathy, respect, and understanding of their cultural context. By tailoring communication and treatment approaches to align with patients’ cultural preferences, I fostered trust and strengthened the doctor-patient relationship.”

She highlighted patient education and empowerment in preventive care, prioritizing oral hygiene, regular check-ups, and fostering long-term oral wellness, making her a culturally sensitive and forward-thinking practitioner.

It was a tremendous honour to receive the award from him highlighting our team’s hard work and dedication. It motivates us to make a positive impact in the field of dentistry. Our patients’ trust fuels our passion, and we’re excited to continue raising the bar in dental care. Being recognised amongst the distinguished health care professionals and organisations at this significant milestone event is truly humbling.” She blushed with pride.
This month, women entrepreneurs are celebrated, and Dr. Sana Nabeel is recognised for her contributions. We asked her about the challenges and her advice to budding entrepreneurs, and she replied, “As a woman entrepreneur in dentistry, overcoming challenges like time management and multitasking as a working mother was difficult. The UAE’s business environment is ranked among the top global for ease of doing business and this influenced my entrepreneurial journey. I advise aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace their uniqueness, believe in themselves, and take risks. To succeed, surround yourself with a supportive network, continuously learn, adapt to changing circumstances, accept successes and setbacks as opportunities, and maintain a strong connection to passion and purpose.
