In the world of beachwear, where the sun meets the sand, and we have the chance to live experiences we always only dreamed about, there exists a brand that goes beyond the ordinary. This brand represents more than just clothing, it’s a whole lifestyle concept, a statement and a canvas for self-expression. This is a story about Seigaia, where the very essence of partywear and beachwear embodies a multitude of values and emotions.
According to them, in their own language, “Seigaia means Beach. It’s a synergy between PoSEIdon- the god of the ocean and GAIA- the goddess of the Earth.”

In this story, we had the chance to have a conversation with Gergana Dimitrova, who everyone knows as Gayah, founder and CEO of SEIGAIA, clothing brand where beachwear transforms into a Lifestyle, blending fashion, music, and community spirit.
How it All Started
Originally from Bulgaria, Gayah always wanted to follow a career in the creative field, but unfortunately, the universe conspired against her, preventing Gayah from following her dream.
“My dream profession was to be an interior designer. At the age of 19, I applied to study just that at a prestigious university. I had been preparing myself for 2 years before applying, attending classes in math and drawing. On the day of the exam, in the discipline which was my biggest strength, I was sitting under the air conditioner which was drying my paint too fast, and painting was my strongest discipline. I was too shy to ask the examiner to move. As a result, I didn’t pass the exam and therefore, I was not chosen for the interior design course. I felt deflated, as if all my efforts were in vain.” She shared with us.
After this unfortunate event, she decided to pursue a degree in the Business Administration faculty.
Getting Inspiration From the the Least Expected Places
Gayah always had an unique view of the world, and those different lenses she has inside of her, and uses when looking at the world around her, together with her unique sense of fashion, are the superpowers Gayah uses in her own advantage to create all of these unique experiences and memorable moments she delivers through her art and clothing pieces.
“Years later, still looking for the real direction for my life, I sometimes could see in others’ eyes that I was always busy with never ending fun activities and not having a clear purpose.” Gayah explains.
“They didn’t know my secret, while they were waiting at the traffic light, seeing a simple cement mixer truck annoyingly obstructing their immediate view, I would be in the car next to them seeing a hamster running happily in a huge wheel, instead. My mind was alive with creativity and seeing the world in a way others didn’t.” She adds.
Establishing SEIGAIA
As a way to give life to her world perception in a tangible way, Gayah kept painting as she always loved, even not considering making those paintings public, except for close friends.
Just like she explains “my paintings and hand crafted art, only seen by my closest friends, had tons of sensory information perceived and stored in shapes and forms I can’t quite explain”.
Gayah’s unique perception of the world, alongside a lot of other elements of her life, played a big role in influencing her to start her own company.
“The inherited entrepreneurial spirit from my father, padded with some relevant education, going to the other extremes which I like to call recreation for the soul, namely electronic music events… This deviated at times into spiritual practices for detachment and a better bigger picture view, Seigaia was born. It is an expression of all the experiences, stirred together in the journey to seek balance. The never-ending love for life and the fact that everyone has something to give to the world.”
“As women, our lives nowadays have turned into a constant strive to balance it all. Our soft feminine side, when surrounded by loved ones, with our masculine persevering side and when expressing ourselves professionally. We try to be perfect in all, to earn a living, to unwind at the same time, to be a pillar for those who need it, and to be able to soften up when we do need it, to be practical and to be listening to our souls at the same time. It’s a never ending story. And we often forget what we owe to ourselves and deviate to one of the extremes. I believe there is a space for all and life could be balanced, so it is fulfilling and feels at ease.” Gayah added when explaining the main reasons that inspired her to start Seigaia.
The core mission of Seigaia as a brand is simple,
“Create beyond fashion. Craft wear charged with emotional, intellectual and spiritual value”.
And that is what allows them to provide a wear lifestyle that gives us the opportunity to find balance within everything in life as a way to make us be free, to be who we really are and be able to express our true selves, freely.
And to make this mission come true, Gayah and her team at Seigaia had to adopt a very specific and unique personality as a brand, which Gayah describes as being:
“Fun, outgoing, sexy but not tacky, quirky and with a luxurious touch and feel, rebellious, with style, mysterious, wise and spiritual, with a good sense of humor.”
Redefining Standards
Seigaia aims to become the answer when you’re looking for a complete set at one place, that’s why Gayah and her team are working hard to be the standard for those who need a quality outfit to stand out of the crowd and still find multiple ways of use in only one piece.
One thing is for sure, Seigaia is not, even by mistake an ordinary, basic nor boring brand, the hard work that is put into the pieces are the main reason which Seigaia is able to provide trendy, uniquely designed, environmentally friendly printing technique, reversible designs, matching sets and items that save space in your luggage when traveling.
That’s what their current collection, “Essentia Dubai” is all about.
“It is inspired by the vibrant sides of our city. It has so many faces and I have implemented some of them in the designs. For example, Modern Mashrabiya design. Mashrabiya is an old Arabic style wood carving on the windows which they have used to cool down the passing air.” She explained.
They also have the “Future Now” design collection. This collection aims to inspire innovative and futuristic spirit. These ideologies are expressed through Arabic calligraphy panthers engraved on the pieces.
