Shoe designer Amina Muaddi kicked off her birthday festivities in advance this week, surrounded by her friends and colleagues. Muaddi, who hails from a mixed Jordanian and Romanian background but grew up in Italy, will be turning 37 on June 2. In honor of this special occasion, Muaddi gathered her closest companions for a memorable celebration.
Muaddi’s celebrity friends, including Lori Harvey, a popular US model, and socialite, took to Instagram to share pictures and express their birthday wishes. Harvey wrote on her Stories, “Happy birthday my baby Amina Muaddi. It’s always a party when we get together. I hope you have the best day ever. Can’t wait to celebrate you.”
Another famous face, Imaan Hammam, an Egyptian Moroccan Dutch model, also posted a picture to mark the occasion. Hammam wrote on Instagram, “It’s my sis Amina Muaddi’s birthday, y’all!”
Notably, Hammam and Muaddi previously worked together on a unique campaign that honored their Arab heritage. In August 2022, an ad including videos and pictures of Hammam riding a white Arabian horse and standing on elaborately woven carpets was filmed in Cairo. The campaign showcased Muaddi’s distinctive dazzling accents on various footwear designs, such as strappy square stilettos, satin pointed-toe pumps, and transparent platforms.
Muaddi’s accomplishments in the fashion industry are undeniably impressive. Just a year after leaving her role as co-founder and creative director of premium footwear brand Oscar Tiye, she introduced her own footwear collection in August 2018. Additionally, Muaddi played a significant role in designing shoes for Rihanna’s Fenty collection, which proved to be highly successful. The collaboration received the Collaborator of the Year award at the 34th edition of the FN Achievement Awards in 2020. Furthermore, Muaddi’s achievements earned her a spot on Women’s Wear Daily and Footwear News’ 50 Most Powerful Women list in the following year.
Joining the ranks of A-list celebrities sporting her heels, Beyoncé was recently seen wearing Muaddi’s Begum PVC glass pumps during her Renaissance World Tour in London. Muaddi’s career continues to flourish, making her birthday celebration a testament to her talent, success, and the close relationships she has cultivated within the entertainment and fashion industries.
