Jean Shafiroff is a philanthropist, humanitarian, writer and the author of the book, Successful Philanthropy: How to Make a Life By What You Give, as well as the host of the TV show ‘Successful Philanthropy‘ on LTV. Often referred to as “The First Lady of Philanthropy” by the press because of her generosity and extensive work as a volunteer fundraiser and leader in the philanthropic world, she also serves on the boards of many charitable organizations. and each year chairs upwards of eight different charity galas. Among the many causes she champions are those supporting women’s rights, the rights of underserved populations, health care and animal welfare.

On this episode of WOMXN UP!, Jean discusses the importance of donating to causes you care about, the variety of ways people can do so, regardless of their financial situation, and how giving of yourself will give a lot back to you as well. “You have to give to get,” Jean says.
