Dilse with Neha: A Journey of Poetry, Passion, and Empowerment
Poetry is one of the most ancient forms of artistic expression and remains to this day one of the most powerful means of exploring human experiences, emotions, and the complexities of the human condition. Poetry goes beyond mere words, embracing rhythm, metaphor, and imagery to create a unique and evocative narrative. And in today’s fast-paced, digital world, poetry serves as a recess, a way to slow down and engage with the intricacies of language and the human experience.
This is all what DilsewithNeha is all about. DilsewithNeha is a platform, is a channel (on instagram) that was conceived to be a retreat for our mind and spirit. DilsewithNeha is our home, a place where we can be vulnerable, a place where we can be our own selves and feel safe through the warm words and voice of Neha Krishna, who is a voice over artist and content creator on Instagram, now followed globally by people of all ages who enjoy listening to words of famous poets and simple pearls of wisdom some of which are originally written by Neha herself!
Yes! Neha is that voice and heart behind the Instagram account @DilsewithNeha, a place full of wisdom and love where all of us can navigate through our emotions, sentiments and feelings. In this feature, we had the privilege and pleasure to have a conversation with Neha Krishna as we delve deeper into what DilsewithNeha is all about, her life story and how she is able to make difference and impact people’s lives.
A Journey Worth Talking About
Neha’s life story begins in Rajasthan, an Indian state very well known around the world for its art and culture. She grew up in a family of art lovers, with a lot of passion for music, literature and poetry.
“I grew up in a family of art lovers, my whole family always had a lot of passion for music, literature and poetry and those are the things I was exposed to the most when I was a child and I still cherish the most” Neha explains when talking about the possible reasons that ignited her creative side.
Even though poetry and art in general were a major element of her life, she did not consider it as a career right away. She decided to follow a different path and ended up getting a degree in Human Resources and then an MBA from the prestigious Indian B-school, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management..
“After getting my degree, I started working in the corporate field as a recruiter for over a decade. I started my career as a recruiter for Microsoft. I also had the privilege to support hiring at Amazon, Meta and Google as their full time technical recruiter. I really loved my job, it was very fulfilling, and when working at Google I had the chance to travel around a lot of university campuses around the world, it was really a life changing experience.”
While working as a recruiter for these tech giant companies, she decided to participate in the MS India Washington and MS Asia Pageants 2016-2018 editions and, fascinatingly, she was the winner of both competitions.
The Inception of DilsewithNeha
Neha likes to call herself an introverted extrovert. “I always enjoyed listening to Rumi, Jaun Alia, Amrita Pritam and many other poets. Some of that didn’t make sense when I was young. But life has a way of humbling you and one day it just happened and I created my first voiceover on Instagram with my now famous words “Hello, Salaam, Namaste, You are listening to DilsewithNeha”. It did not take too long and the page started growing exponentially, more and more people started showing their love and admiration for the work I was doing. I started getting messages for collaboration, MC, hosting shows globally – people just loved my voice!”
Creating Unique Experiences
At DilsewithNeha, Neha recites poetry from her favorite poets and uses her voice as the main tool to connect with her audience.
“I really love the positive impact my work has on my audience. We currently live in a world where people use social media only to share happy moments and bury other feelings and sentiments inside them. DilsewithNeha is a place where everybody gets the chance to process all of those feelings and be vulnerable, those are feelings that everyone has and that’s why my message resonates with everyone. I use my own personal experiences as a source of inspiration, my feelings and emotions, such as grief, frustration, love and happiness, and this is why my work speaks and connects with everyone because I show that human, vulnerable, hurtable part of me! Even though I recite the poems in urdu and hindi, people from around the world that don’t understand urdu and hindi are able to feel my words when I express – this is the power of expression ” She shared with us when talking about her source of inspirations for her work as a voice over artist at DilsewithNeha.
Becoming a Womenpreneur
As Neha’s work started to gain more traction over time, she started to receive more and more requests to work as an MC for events in many states and even abroad. That helped her to fortify her brand as a voice over artist and that was when she saw the real potential of the work she was doing for all these years. This allowed to explore more of her entrepreneurs skills and scale her business.
Neha also owns a high end fashion and lifestyle Jewelry company where every Jewelry is hand crafted by other talented women.
“My jewelry company is all about consciousness and sustainability. I work with world class artists from all around the globe who design and create very unique jewelry pieces. I only work with artists who have the same values as mine with consciousness and sustainability as the core values. While the business is headquartered in the US, we operate globally and will be exhibiting our beautiful pieces in the UAE soon.
The Start of a Bright New Chapter
Neha is very optimistic about her future, as a young woman, she still has a lot of new experiences to live and new ways to create more impact in the world.
“I’m looking to expand my personal brand and take my instagram page: @dilsewithneha to new heights, increase our fan base and find more ways to host shows and collabs outside the US. I’m also very optimistic about my jewelry brand (instagram page @maharanibagh_) and hope to showcase my collection in UAE, Africa and Europe this year with a plan to retail and wholesale eventually” Neha explained.
A Word To Aspiring Womenpreneurs
“Be ambitious for your job but be more ambitious for life. Trust yourself and remember that progress is more important than perfection. As women, we can have it all, just not all at the same time so be easy on yourself and keep on walking”
Neha lives each day as it comes. She is a traveler, a corporate woman, an inspirational voice over artist, a businesswoman – she shows us that it is never too late to follow our passions! It is just one life after all —also the tattoo that you see engraved on Neha’s hands!
